I have had a lot of Foreign Verse lately, for good reason though. Simply because, I enjoyed what I read. Tonight's Foreign Verse is one that I became particularly attached to. Ghosti has written The Winter Sleep, and I wish to share it with you all. I myself am honored to be able to post this particular poem on my own site. To read his other works, go to his profile at Fictionpress by clicking on his name below. ----- The Winter Sleep ----- . For each pleasant night, I must, in desperation Lay my eyes on you In keen and quivering anxiety To the lovely moments. . For each beloved hour Experienced, with thine presence with me Long have I yearned throughout the years, Bitter lonely feelings were suddenly gone And coughs heaped with tears. And all because you found me. . The nights are only worth to see you Days are only worth to be with you If I should keep a hold on my patient faith So sure you will come, so sure you will come I listening, listening for your approach Went to sleep Reciting thine dreamingful name. . I should not dare to leave my dreams, Because if I should suddenly awake While you were gone and I -- too late, Should reach the heart that I ever wanted . I tell you, my love while half-asleep, In the early hours, With half-words whispered high and low; . As Earth stirs in my winter sleep And I say your name in joy and peace Despite the tears, Despite the falling tears. by G)-(osti .
